Yongsan Orbit--Where I'd Start Looking

When people choose Seogyo or Yeonnam, they often choose Hongdae first.
“I want to live around Hongdae.”
Then they figure out which neighborhood inside that orbit fits.

I don't see people doing that with Yongsan.
The housing changes too much.

Hannam, Ichon, Hangangno, Itaewon, HBC, and Huam, all fall under the Yongsan umbrella.
But move a couple kilometers, you can go from huge luxury housing, to apartment land, to new urban towers and officetels, to Itaewon's strange mix, to old hillside houses.

The price changes.
The budongsan behavior changes.
Even the way I'd run the search changes.

If you are not familiar with the area yet, maybe that's the useful way to think about Yongsan.

Not necessarily as the orbit you choose first.
Find the neighborhood that gives you a reason to sit down.
Then keep the rest of Yongsan nearby.
